The Dong consist of two different groups in China. The northern Dong, with a population of nearly 1.5 million, has assimilated into the broader Chinese culture. The southern Dong, on the other hand, number more than 2.3 million and have retained their cultural and ethnic identities.Only a few hundred Christians exist among both branches of the Dong, each of which primarily practices ethnic religions. These religions include the worship of many gods, spirits, and ancestors.
— Because the northern Dong have been assimilated into more modern Chinese culture, efforts to reach them via Chinese-language media could be successful. Pray that these efforts would continue and reap a harvest among the Dong.
