Approximately 17,000 Baima live on the Sichuan-Gansu provincial border. Because they occupy such a remote geographical area, it is possible that no living members of this ethnolinguistic group have heard a presentation of the gospel message. Even gospel radio broadcasts cannot reach the Baima living in the high mountains. For centuries, this tribe has remained isolated geographically, culturally and linguistically.Although they have been considered Tibetans, the Baima maintain their own cultural distinctions, including their dress and language. Unlike Tibetans, the Baima do not practice Buddhism.
- Pray that God would prepare the hearts of workers to proclaim the gospel among this difficult-to-reach people group.
- Pray that the Spirit would reveal himself through dreams and visions among the tribal leaders of the Baima.
- Pray that committed believers would learn the native language of the Baima and relate the gospel to them on a personal level.
- Pray that Jesus would be exalted among the Baima.
