The Iquito language is an endangered language. There are few speakers; some estimate lower than 25 speakers. However, many Amacacore Iquito speak Spanish as well. They are primarily Catholic; however, many indigenous tribes practice a syncretized form of Christianity which is why Joshua Project rates them as superficially reached. LAC World Missions is working with the national church to evangelize and disciple unreached tribes in Latin America.
Partnership // Move Beyond
- Pray for church planting teams to establish churches in order to properly disciple Iquito believers.
- Pray they would believe in the truth and that the truth would set them free.
- Pray for spiritual freedom from prior practices such as animism and shamanism.
