Syria is an ancient country boasting one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world, Damascus, as its capital. Although the apostle Paul had a vision of Christ while traveling to Damascus, several centuries later, the country was later occupied by Muslims and has remained under the heavy hand of Islam for 1,500 years.

Currently, a civil war is raging throughout the country as the Assad regime fights for control of a people no longer paralyzed by fear. Hundreds of thousands of Syrian Muslims are displaced throughout the region.

Engagement — What’s Happening Now

“We are continually amazed at God’s divine wisdom and provision. Each time we visit Syrian refugees, they are overcome with joy and ready to hear the message of truth. They tell us that they listen to the Scriptures on the MP3 players we gave them. Truly, God is redeeming the tragedy of war for His greater purpose. Even more, God continually supplies the funds for this work in ways we never imagined.”

Sustainability — The Bigger Story

Because of the ongoing civil war in Syria, missionaries have been unable to enter the country. However, God is still moving. Hundreds of thousands of Syrians have fled their homes to neighboring countries where missionaries are ready and waiting with aid and the love of Jesus. Many Syrian Muslims are hearing the gospel and receiving Bibles for the first time. For those who cannot read, the Scriptures are distributed in audio format. These precious souls are disillusioned by Islam and open to the truth of Jesus.

Partnership — Move Beyond

— Syrians continue to flood neighboring countries. Pray that workers in those countries can minister to their physical and spiritual needs.

— Pray for new believers among Syrian Muslims and for the establishment of house churches that will grow into a church planting movement.

Women: An opportunity has come about to work with more than 100 women in a refugee camp who are creating craft items.

Children’s Ministers: Each week hundreds of Syrian children are ministered to in various cities in a neighboring country.

Offering Help: We provide continual aid to refugees. If you would like to help, please contact us.

Problem Solvers: Significant barriers exist in spreading the gospel among Muslims. Pray that God would continue to open doors.
