Approximately 7100 Malay, Kedah live in the southern provinces of Thailand, Satun, which borders Malaysia. The Malay are a hospitable people group and are seen in all levels of society; some work in agriculture and others work in urban areas. The Kedah Malay descend from an intermarrying of Arabs and Malay. The Malay are defined by their culture, language, and religion. There are very few followers of Jesus among the Malay, to be considered Malay one must be Muslim. Like many cultures who embrace Islam, hints of animistic and shamanistic traditions still exist. Some Malay will still seek out a witchdoctor for help.

Asia’s Little Ones is an organization that exists to serve children through children’s homes, nutrition and medical care projects, and schooling. They primarily work in Southeast Asia and Peninsular Asia. Pray God blesses their ministry, and that it may extend to Malay children in southern Thailand.
Sustainability // The Bigger Story
The Asia Pacific Theological Seminary in Baguio, Philippines is preparing young and old ministers to bring the gospel and make the disciples throughout Asia. Pray that the students and graduates of the seminary will see the need to minister among the Muslim Malay and will plant churches in their communities.
