Engagement // What’s Happening Now

Laos is one of the least-developed nations in the world, and one major way of reaching the Lao is through compassion ministries. Asia’s Little One’s aims to reach children who are in poverty. In the article, “Ga Nong’s Promise”, we read the story of a young impoverished child who has been able to receive an education and dreams of becoming a doctor. A global worker who has been a part of Ga Nong’s journey states, “they have never seen a girl with her background dare to dream so big! They are convinced this is a desire the Father has placed in her heart and are excited to watch Ga Nong fulfill her promise and all that the Father is doing in her.”

Sustainability // The Bigger Story

Asia Pacific Region needs workers who will partner with them to build community and bring hope. Laos is an undeveloped country with many opportunities such as a street kids program or development projects. The AP Spend Yourself website states; “Laos calls to the warrior; it is no place for those unwilling and unready to make sacrifices.”

Partnership // Move Beyond

Please spend a few minutes in prayer for:

  • Lao Phuan women often enter into prostitution in order to escape poverty and to provide for their families.
  • Pray for God to lovingly reveal himself to Lao Phuan, that they may see the value and worth that we have in Him.
  • Pray for the Christian Lao Phuan, that they may be encouraged by one another’s faith and continue to hold to the gospel despite opposition.
  • The Lao Phuan have no Christian resources. Pray that a Bible will be written in their language and a JESUS film produced.
