Rescue efforts are continuing in Les Cayes, Haiti, following Saturday’s 7.2 magnitude earthquake and subsequent Tropical Storm Grace. Over 2,000 people have perished, and more than 3,000 are still missing. The quake also displaced more than 30,000 families and injured 12,000 people. Haiti is deeply in need of Jesus’ strength, comfort and provision.
“Thank you for your continued prayers for the Church and people of Haiti,” says AGWM Latin American Caribbean Regional Director David Ellis. “The earthquake and storm are causing much pain in this suffering country. Pray that the Lord will pull down every stronghold and heal this land."
As of August 18, AGWM partner Convoy of Hope “has 3.5 million meals available for distribution in Haiti. Convoy continues to distribute tarps, solar lanterns, water filters, and other necessities to people affected by the earthquake and subsequent storm.”
